Joe Biden is appointing another radical Left-wing Democrat to his cabinet. Mehrsa Baradaran has been an outspoken BLM supporter for years. She’s calling on the Biden-Harris administration to pay African Americans reparations for slavery. At what point do we draw the line?
Reparations advocate in the White House
Joe Biden ran one of the worst campaigns in recent history. He flip flopped on major issues such as supporting the Green New Deal and putting an end to fracking. He also dodged questions about important topics such as packing the Supreme Court and defunding the police.
His strategy seemed to be, hide in the basement all year, blame the weak turnouts to his rallies on the China Virus, and trash President Trump every chance he gets. Yet somehow Sleepy Joe got almost 80 million votes, the highest number of any presidential candidate in American history. That’s 10 million more votes than Barack Obama received in 2008. Many Americans are skeptical.
Another hot-button issue the Biden-Harris ticket successfully dodged was whether or not they support reparations for Black Americans. Some voices on the far-Left believe the Federal Government owes Black Americans reparations to repay them for the sin of slavery.
Even though slavery was outlawed in 1865 and no slaves or slave owners are alive today. Plus there was that bloody and costly war in the 1860s. Most Americans think we should put that mess behind us now that it’s 2020. But not the radical Left.
Joe Biden is appointing Mehrsa Baradaran for his Treasury transition. She’s a professor at the University of California (of course) and she’s an outspoken advocate of reparations for Black Americans. She thinks money is the only way of correcting White supremacy and closing the racial wealth gap. “Dear Kamala, Reparations or go home,” Baradaran wrote in June 2019. “Biden just dodged that reparations question like a much nimbler and younger man,” she said, referring to the Democratic primary debate. Baradaran is so passionate about the subject that she wrote a book about it. In one excerpt she writes, “A reparations program could take many forms from simple cash payments or baby bonds to more complex schemes such as subsidized college tuition, basic income, housing vouchers, or subsidized mortgage credit.”
Biden and Kamala dodged questions about reparations through the 2020 cycle. Baradaran took note of their refusal, "Dear Kamala, Reparations or go home," she wrote in June '19: https://t.co/Ts5lNHzcmH

Democrats still pandering
The idea raises a bunch of questions. First one being, where’s the money going to come from? Are all tax payers on the hook for this massive redistribution of wealth?
Will this be an additional tax on top of the Green New Deal tax and the socialized medicine and all the other progressive projects they have in mind?
How does the Government decide who is entitled to a check and how much? BET network founder Robert Johnson thinks Blacks should receive $14 trillion in reparations. “Now is the time to go big, to keep America from dividing into two separate and unequal societies,” he said in an interview. Unequal? Right. Because there are no poor Whites in America. These people are out of their minds
. It is worth pointing out that Robert Johnson is a successful Black American with a net worth of approximately $600 million. The fact is, systemic racism no longer exists in America and there is no such thing as White privilege. We all have equal rights.
We all have the same opportunities in employment and education. If someone studies, works hard and stays out of trouble, they can be anything they want to be. The American dream is alive and well.
