It is so nice when billionaires who have a shady past come out and tell Americans all about it. Bill Gates told the United States that it must treat climate change with as much intensity as the response to the coronavirus.
Gates Gives Dramatic Predictions… Again
The Microsoft co-founder said that climate change will claim the same number of lives as COVID-19 in 40 years.
“If you want to understand the kind of damage that climate change will inflict, look at COVID-19 and spread the pain out over a much longer period of time,” Gates wrote on his blog Tuesday.
Typical liberal rhetoric, he went on a tangent about carbon emissions and constantly compared climate change to the coronavirus.
“The loss of life and economic misery caused by this pandemic are on par with what will happen regularly if we do not eliminate the world’s carbon emissions.”
Comparing Climate Change to the Coronavirus
He went on to predict that a climate change related death toll could be that of the pandemic by 2060 and exceed it by five times by 2100. Gates said that the impact of climate change could be “as bad as having a COVID-sized pandemic every ten years.”
Many liberals have stated their intent to keep people locked inside their homes not because of the coronavirus, but rather it cuts down on carbon emissions. But billionaire Gates wants more than just this.
“What’s remarkable is not how much emissions will go down because of the pandemic, but how little,” he said referring to a July report estimating the cost of emissions reductions.
“Has closing off major parts of the economy avoided emissions at anything close to $100 per ton?” Gates asked. “No. In the United States, according to data from the Rhodium Group, it comes to between $3,200 and $5,400 per ton. In the European Union, it’s roughly the same amount. In other words, the shutdown is reducing emissions at a cost between 32 and 54 times the $100 per ton that economists consider a reasonable price.”
Could Gate’s Seed Talk Lead to Famine?
Instead of only cutting back on driving and flying, Gates has a solution he believes is the answer which he details at the end of his blog post.
“So just as we need new tests, treatments, and vaccines for the novel coronavirus, we need new tools for fighting climate change: zero-carbon ways to produce electricity, make things, grow food, keep our buildings cool and warm, and move people and goods around the world,” he said.
“And we need new seeds and other innovations to help the world’s poorest people — many of whom are smallholder farmers — adapt to a less predictable climate.”
As Bill Gates keeps bolstering himself into more powerful positions despite having no real experience in these areas, conservatives continue to call out the severe problems that could arise from this.
