ICYMI – Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan DA who refused to prosecute hardened criminals but hits Trump with a 34-count indictment has members of his office facing subpoenas by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Bragg petitioned the court to put a restraining order against Jordan.

Well, the judge has ruled in the case, and it did not go well for Bragg.

Leave Me Alone

The problem for Bragg is that federal money was used in this investigation, and since Congress has oversight on federal spending, he has to explain this.

Bragg’s attorneys stated, “Chairman Jordan’s demands, including his subpoena to Mr. Pomerantz, seek highly sensitive and confidential local prosecutorial information that belongs to the Office of the District Attorney and the People of New York.

“Basic principles of federalism and common sense, as well as binding Supreme Court precedent, forbid Congress from demanding it.”

Jordan responded, Rep. Jordan responded, “First, they indict a president for no crime.

“Then, they sue to block congressional oversight when we ask questions about the federal funds they say they used to do it.”

The filing was denied, with the judge giving Jordan a full week to respond before the final ruling on the case comes down.

The fact a restraining order was not initially slapped on Jordan has me feeling confident this case is going to go our way.
