China stole Joe Biden’s thunder by announcing a big peace plan for Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, Beijing’s pending arms deal, the one widely expected to trigger nuclear world war, seems to be moving steadily along. You can tell that Xi Jinping is a big fan of Sun Tzu. “If peaceful negotiations are in progress, warlike preparations should have been made beforehand.”
China acts war, talks peace
Wang Yi, Foreign Minister for China, has been busy lately, running around Europe to meet behind the scenes with everyone important. He tried to duck Antony Blinken but managed to find a few minutes for him in Munich.
That’s where he called Joe’s shooting down of their spy balloon hysterical overreaction. He also reminded Blinky that Joe and all the Democrats need to back away from Taiwan. Blinken didn’t seem to hear it.
Joe wants to send some lethal aid over to Ukraine while saying if China sends some of the same to Russia, that will mean thermonuclear war. Xi Jinping could just call Joe’s bluff. Everyone knows the Pentagon is to woke to fight effectively and not as big a threat as they seem. Instead, he sidestepped and threw a peace plan on the table.

Joe and Blinky were quick to call it a meaningless sham but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to take a good look at it. On Thursday, he told the press he hasn’t seen it yet but “I think it is a very good fact in general that China started talking about Ukraine and sent some signals. We’ll draw some conclusions after we see the specifics of what they offer.” He also noted, “we would like to have a meeting with China.”
Wang Yi dropped the bombshell peace plan Friday, calling for “the end of Western sanctions on Russia, measures to ensure nuclear facilities, humanitarian corridors for civilians to flee the conflict and a process to ensure the continuation of grain exports.”
Can we try a little cooperation for a change, China suggests. “All parties should support Russia and Ukraine in working in the same direction and resuming direct dialogue as quickly as possible.”
Then there’s war
No matter what Joe Biden’s handlers are telling him, America has no business trying to run the rest of the world. If we don’t all back down, things could very well go nuclear. “China indicated its opposition to the use of nuclear weapons in the conflict, as well as the threat of deploying them.”
They call it mutually assured destruction for a reason. “Nuclear weapons must not be used and nuclear wars must not be fought. The threat or use of nuclear weapons should be opposed.”
Wang had a lengthy meeting last week with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. The peace plan isn’t real detailed but seems to suggest we learn to play nice and share the global playground. “Parties to the conflict should strictly abide by international humanitarian law, avoid attacking civilians or civilian facilities.”

China might talk tough but economically, their belt and road project was virtually wiped out by COVID. No matter where it came from. We can all keep fighting and probably end up blowing away the planet, or maybe try something new for a change, cooperation.
U.S. Intelligence officials aren’t real sure how to take this one. They don’t want the arms sale with Russia to go through, even though were doing the same for Ukraine. At the same time, they hate to admit that Xi Jinping might have something workable going.
“My assessment is the PRC [People’s Republic of China] is trying to both increase its standing in the international community by saying that it’s willing to mediate and help bring this horrifying invasion to an end. And at the same time, they are committed to their no limits partnership with Russia.“
