California Governor Gavin Newsom is sending his children to a wealthy private school while public schools remain closed in his county.
Students and parents have been struggling to adjust to virtual classes since the Covid-19 lockdowns began in March. California has some of the most draconian lockdown measures in the country.
California governor destroying the state
Politico has reported that Governor Newsom’s children are attending a private school, in person, in Sacramento County. Public schools in the same county continue to be locked down, forcing children to attend classes online.
Newsom claims he wanted public schools to reopen soon, and even gave them guidelines to do so, but ultimately the timeline was their decision.
“We absolutely believe that the social-emotional learning that occurs in the classroom is the best place for our kids, certainly the best place for their parents as well.
And so it is absolutely incumbent to do everything in our power to provide support to our districts so that they can safely reopen, emphasis on safely reopen.”
Since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out early this year, states have been taking various measures to slow the spread. In the following months unemployment and business closures have skyrocketed.
In the first few months of the pandemic, unemployment rose more than it did in the Great Recession from 2007-2009. Studies have also found that depression and anxiety has tripled in Americans.

COVID-19 lockdowns continue
States such as South Dakota and Florida have been relatively relaxed in their response. Florida had lockdown measures early on but Governor Ron DeSantis has now opened up the state, allowing tourists to crowd the beaches and pack the bars.
Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota didn’t issue a stay-at-home order at all. “We have seen such an outstanding call to action among the people of South Dakota that we actually have more people staying home than many of the other states that have put in shelter-in-place orders and have put together directives to tell people they can’t leave their homes,” she said.
On the other end of the spectrum is Governor Gavin Newsom. He set a strict stay-at-home order on March 19th with no set end date. Over the months, he’s allowed certain businesses to open up with limitations. In a recent Tweet, the Governor’s office urged residents going out to eat to “keep your mask on in between bites.”

The ruling Democratic elite in California have showed their hypocrisy time and time again. Nancy Pelosi recently visited a salon to get her hair done while similar businesses in her district are ordered to remain closed.
In July, Governor Newsom ordered beaches and restaurants to close but allowed his own Plumpjack Winery to remain open. It’s clear they don’t care about the hard working Americans whose lives have been affected by their lockdown orders. When will the people of California wake up?
