The battle on the Senate floor is shaping up to be a pretty good one.
Now only days away from the heavyweights going toe-to-toe during the impeachment trial, both Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the lead House manager, and Alan Dershowitz, Trump’s legal expert on the Constitution and impeachment, are already squaring off in public.
Precedent on My Side
Dershowitz has a strong argument and we know it is strong because it was used before.
During the impeachment of Andrew Johnson in 1868, presiding Justice Curtis used the very same argument that Dershowitz plans on using to defend Trump.
Dershowitz stated, “I am making an argument much like the argument made by the great Justice Curtis.
“The argument is a strong one. The Senate should hear it.
“You can’t charge a president with impeachable conduct if it doesn’t fit within the criteria for the Constitution.”
Schiff immediately fired back, calling the argument “absurdist” and insisting that the articles of impeachment, as drawn, are 100 accurate and enough to have Trump removed from office.
Political Response
Social media outlets have been filled with some rather interesting quotes both supporting and condemning this impeachment.
In addition to the rash of social media postings, the President’s team also fired off a 110-page brief utterly destroying the Democrat attempt to have him removed from office.
The filing stated, “This is a brazen and unlawful attempt to overturn the results of the 2016 election and interfere with the 2020 election, now just months away.”
If Trump is acquitted, that may be an avenue Republicans choose to explore to further hurt Democrats chances of having another blue wave in 2020.
Few on the right would disagree this impeachment was timed out to hurt Trump during the election season as well as possibly eliminate a few of Biden’s main opponents.
With the impeachment in session, both Sanders and Warren will lose considerable time on the campaign trail, benefitting the corrupt Joe Biden.
This is 2016 all over again, with Democrats paving the way for their preferred candidate while doing everything they can to eliminate Bernie Sanders from the race.
Which ass – head, or tail?
Schiff proclaimed Dershowitz is not a constitutional scholar, yet Harvard and his colleagues knows he is. Quoting eminent and legendary justice Curtis in 1868, he stated, “I am making an argument much like the argument made by the great Justice Curtis. “The argument is a strong one. The Senate should hear it. You can’t charge a president with impeachable conduct if it doesn’t fit within the criteria for the Constitution.”
If the charges are unconstitutional then the trial is over and should have never been brought. Stay strong sound-minded American patriots, the truth will be known and Schiff will be in a bigger minority in the Senate, and the House will switch parties in leadership.
As a registered voter – who votes – I would like to see ALL those who have pumped up this conspiracy – with fake evidence – to overturn a fair election) despite all Democrat cheats to make it go the way of Criminal Hillary) – charged with criminal intent to the fullest extent our laws allow under our Constitution. Take no prisoners, scorch all of them out of office, and into long term incarceration – where they belong.

Trump acted with the authority of the legitimate American voters who “hired” him to “Clean out the Swamp”. We didn’t realize the “Swamp” extended to illegal PAC contributions in the Ukraine to include Anti-American Nazi Collaborator, George Soros and Hunter Biden. How does Pres Trump trying to shine light on political corruption end up in an impeachment? Pres Trump did not ask to cover up a crime but rather to expose one. How does Biden become Trump’s political rival since he has NEVER been nominated as such by his own party? The Kangaroo Court conducted by Pelosi and fellow Trump haters in the House was totally partisan and made a mockery of American Justice.
I have to wonder if anything gets done, too. I saw several whispering among themselves during the hoax trial and they were warned that if they weren’t absolutely quiet, they would get jail time. Yeah! right!! I watched the sham proceedings just to see who would be the first escorted out and nothing happened. Big surprise.
