Trump’s Department of Justice recently announced sweeping indictments that are going to create an international sh**storm.

On Thursday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was indicted on federal drug-trafficking and other related charges.

Flooding the United States

Attorney General Barr announced the indictments on Thursday morning.

He accused the Venezuelan president and his associates of working with Columbia in “flooding” the United States with cocaine.

Barr stated, “The Maduro regime is awash in corruption and criminality.”

He further stated the regime has “betrayed the Venezuelan people and corrupted Venezuelan institutions.

“While the Venezuelan people suffer, this cabal lines their pockets with drug money and proceeds of the corruption.

“This has to come to an end.”

If Maduro leaves Venezuela, he would risk being arrested and deported to the United States.

To incentivize someone capturing and turning him over to the United States, a $15-million reward has been put on his head.

Maduro responded to the indictment before Barr had even left the dais.

The controversial president accused the United States of being complicit in a conspiracy against Venezuela and his administration and that together with Columbia, “they have given the order to fill Venezuela with violence.”

This investigation has been taking place for some time, the results of which were ready to announce more than a week ago.

However, Barr decided to delay the indictment announcements due to social distancing concerns brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
