Here we go again…
An evacuation order has been given to US citizens in Belarus.
They have been warned to leave the country immediately.
Time to Go
The situation is starting to get a bit dicey along the border and is getting more tense.
Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland are stepping up military presence along their borders.
This is due to the concerns about Russian Wagner mercenaries that were exiled.
The United States State Department has put Belarus at a Level 4 risk, which is the highest alert given.
Belarus’s longtime leader Alexander Lukashenko, is also an ally of Putin.
Lukashenko has a stack of sanctions levied against him by the United States stemming from the 2020 election.
He reportedly made a deal with Putin to exile the Wagner Group forces that were involved in the failed coup.
The State Department stated, “Do not travel to Belarus due to Belarusian authorities’ continued facilitation of Russia’s unprovoked attack on Ukraine, the buildup of Russian military forces in Belarus, the arbitrary enforcement of local laws, the potential of civil unrest, the risk of detention, and the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens residing in or traveling to Belarus.”
If they do not leave soon, they may never be able to get out, as border areas are being closed by the countries mentioned above as a pushback against Belarus.
