Something tells me that Democrats are now regretting backing Fetterman for Senator against Dr. Oz.
Since being seated in the Senate, Fetterman has been more than willing to buck the company line, especially when it came to Israel.
Now, however, he is really going to have party members flip for his statements about Trump nominees.
No Problem
Fetterman has already enthusiastically supported several nominees, including Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rep. Elise Stefanik.
He clearly has some questions and concerns about other nominees, but he is keeping an open mind about them.
On this, he stated, “But whoever I vote [for], it’s going to be an informed choice. And I see that as doing my job. I don’t see that as controversial.”
Now, he has even offered an olive branch to Senator McCormick (R-PA) to work together to make the state better.
Fetterman stated that he is “forward to making a new” friend in McCormick, which likely had Democrats seething.
I continue to be amazed that of all the Democrat senators, Fetterman seems to be the most open-minded, and he had every reason to write off the GOP and not work with them at all.
Fetterman was put through the wringer during the election, and rightfully so.
He had just had a stroke, he was unwilling to debate (at least initially), and he really had trouble understanding and communicating.
Not only that, but his record was one of an uber-progressive, but he has backed off quite a bit of that since taking office.
Again, don’t get me wrong because we need to beat him when he comes back up for re-election, but it sure is nice to know there is at least one Democrat in the Senate willing to listen to reason and negotiate in good faith.
