Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that officials believe the woman experienced a “sudden death” which could be attributed to natural causes.
Reports indicate that there were numerous sealed bottles of prescription medication located in her room and that she had been due to check out two days prior to her body being discovered.
American Airlines confirmed their employee’s death in an email statement saying they are “devastated by this news” and have pledged to support those affected during this difficult time. Her autopsy results have yet to be revealed as police continue their investigation into what happened that night.
Marriott Hotel has declined comment on the matter when approached for a statement by USA Today.
While many questions remain unanswered and very few facts are currently known, it is clear that this is an incredibly sad situation for all parties involved, especially given its current state of uncertainty.
It is hoped that more information will be revealed as soon as new details come in.
