Fox Business anchor Charles Payne recently made headlines when he broke down in tears while recounting a family experience that happened during his childhood.
Payne was encouraging viewers to not be afraid of taking financial risks when investing in the market, and to drive this message home he shared a personal story about his grandparents.
They had taken a major risk by buying 60 acres of land in Alabama in 1951.
The host read out from the deed, explaining how they had given everything they owned for the purchase – including one red horse mule named Red, one gray horse mule named Jack, one two-horse wagon, one hay mover, one hay press and nine head of mixed cattle.
“My grandparents gave everything. Everything they had,” said Payne as his voice began to shake. “They worked their a** off for years, and they gave it all for 60 acres to have their own.”
It is clear that this was a powerful moment for him as well as many others who were watching this unfold live on air.
Just weeks ago Charles Payne got into an intense debate with now-former Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera after he made some false statements regarding President Joe Biden’s trip to Ukraine during an episode of “Hannity” which aired earlier this year.
The host noted that Biden wasn’t doing enough to help Ukraine by nixing the deal which would have sent Polish fighter jets there however, Rivera argued otherwise claiming that 100,000 people had lost their lives due to the war going on there at present time – something which was later debunked by National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
This showed just how much tension can be created between politicians and media personalities when discussing such sensitive topics related directly or indirectly related to political events happening around the world today.
When it comes right down to it we can all learn something from Charles Payne’s heartfelt tale.
