NYPD dead body arrest

Bristol, CT, officers were lured into an ambush earlier this week.

The officers were called to a domestic disturbance, but it was all a setup.

As they arrived, the three officers came under fire, with two of them now dead, and the third was to undergo surgery.

The Ambush

The statement from the PD stated, “Bristol Police received a 911 call reporting a possible domestic violence incident between two siblings at 310 Redstone Hill Road.

“Preliminary information appears to point to the 911 call being a deliberate act to lure law enforcement to the scene.”

The shooter was identified as Nicholas Brutcher, 35, who was shot dead at the scene.

His brother, Nathan Brutcher, 32, was wounded in the exchange and hospitalized.

Sgt. Dustin Demonte and Officer Alex Hamzy were identified as the officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Officer Alec Iurato is the wounded officer and as noted above, he was to undergo surgery for his wounds.

The statement concluded, “This is a very complex, ongoing investigation led by detectives from the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit at the request of the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney.”
