One of the narratives that Democrats have pitched for years against the GOP is that border policies are not compassionate.
Senator JD Vance (R-OH) appears to have bought into that, making a notable change in stance.
Vance appears to be trying to lure in more moderate voters by saying that “compassion” will play a large role in the Trump administration’s new immigration policies.
Remove Them Now
Trump has been pretty adamant that he will deport as many illegals as possible beginning his first day in office.
Vance, however, seems to be leaning the other way.
Defending Trump and the possible administration’s immigration policy, he stated, “The Trump-Vance approach to the border is the way to maximize compassion, not just for our citizens, but for everybody.
“Border policy is compassionate, and I think that Republicans have to remind people that.”
He then started to discuss the tens of thousands of children the Biden administration appears to have lost.
Vance added, “Right now in the United States, we have about 320,000 children that we have lost track of.
“Now, these are children, many of whom have been trafficked by drug traffickers, or, God forbid, even sex traffickers.”
On Democrats using “compassion,” Vance continued, “The Democrats, meaning Kamala Harris, wants to tell you that the compassionate thing is to have a wide-open border. I think those 320,000 missing children would beg to differ.
“The compassionate thing is to control our border, find those children and punish the criminals mistreating them.
“We should not let Kamala Harris claim the high ground on compassion when her policies have led to 320,000 missing children in the United States of America. It’s a disgrace and there’s nothing compassionate about it.”
I really don’t care what kind of semantics Vance is using these days, we want our borders closed, DACA ended, and illegals removed from this country.
We don’t care how you do it or how you frame it, just do it.
