The GOP and some states have been trying to investigate the issue of child exploitation that has been taking place since this administration has been in power.
This was an issue that was first brought up by the New York Times in an explosive report.
However, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) has stated that the administration is stonewalling investigators and not cooperating.
The Cover Up
When the New York Times report came out, it noted how the administration had lost track of unaccompanied children who were coming across the border.
It also noted how some of these children were being trafficked in sex rings, with others being put to work in sweatshops.
Since then, states that have been impacted, as well as the Senate Homeland Committee, have been trying to investigate this, often to no avail.
Cassidy just released an explosive report on the matter.
His report stated, “When Ranking Member Cassidy attempted to hold the Biden-Harris administration accountable, the administration made every effort to cover its failures up and to stonewall each new oversight effort — a course of action that continues today.
“The administration also refuses to comply with state-level efforts to investigate and prevent the trafficking and exploitation of [unaccompanied children] caused by its own weak sponsor vetting policies and the chaos.”
Cassidy noted that his committee has sent numerous requests to Health and Human Services, many of those requests just being outright ignored.
States have had much the same problem when trying to investigate this.
His report continued, “Similarly, state officials in Virginia have sounded the alarm over ORR’s refusal to share information with law enforcement who are investigating cases of trafficking and abuse.”
Cassidy stated, “The exploitation of unaccompanied children has been documented for years.
“The Biden-Harris administration should have fixed its policies to protect these children, but instead, it subverted Congress and states to cover up its mistakes.
“This lack of transparency to the American people is reprehensible. It is hard to see this as anything other than an attempt to shield the Biden-Harris administration from accountability.”
The administration is clearly hiding its guilt, but I would imagine that this entire scandal will be blown wide open once the Trump administration comes into power.
