We all saw how the mainstream media was trying to push Kamala Harris over the finish line after she stole the nomination from Joe Biden.
One of the more controversial issues that took place was Harris’ “60 Minutes” interview.
The tease for the interview gave one answer for a question, while the interview that aired gave a far more succinct answer, which had Trump claiming election interference.
Give Us the Records
Trump had called out CBS for “deceptively” editing the interview to help Harris, which the network denied.
This all focused on a teaser that was given for the interview by “60 Minutes,” where Bill Whitaker questioned of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was “not listening” to the request of the Biden administration.
Harris, in the teaser, responded, responded, “Well Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things including our advocacy for what happens in the region.”
When the interview actually aired, the response given by Harris to the same question was, “We’re not gonna stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”
So, you can see why Trump was upset. After Trump voiced his concerns, “60 Minutes” stated, “60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response.
“When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point.
“The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment.”
Well, now Trump’s FCC appointment has required the network to turn over the unedited transcript of the full interview, so Trump will finally be able to see what her full answer was.
If this is typical editing, it will be much ado about nothing. However, if the network purposely edited the answer not to be more succinct but to help Harris, well, CBS will have a big problem on its hands.
We should note, the reason the network did not want the transcript turned over in the first place was because it was worried that its editing practices would be criticized.
That may now be the least of the network’s problems.
