Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is not really happy with Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) right now.

McCarthy lifted the debt ceiling and cut defense spending in the process.

Future spending has been limited to a three percent increase, which has Graham steaming mad.

Outrageous!

Let’s keep in mind, the reason we even need so much defense spending right now is because of how much aid has been sent to Ukraine.

While Zelensky is tossing around our missiles and using our tanks, our stockpiles have been severely depleted, yet Biden keeps promising more and more aid to Ukraine.

I am all for keeping our military up to snuff, but I am not for spending for Ukraine being buried in our defense budget.

Graham, who I am sure is getting millions from defense companies and lobbyists, is not happy about the cuts.

He stated, “To my House colleagues, I can’t believe you did this.

“To the Speaker, I know you’ve got a tough job. I like you.

“But the party of Ronald Reagan is dying.

“Don’t tell me that a defense budget that’s $42 billion below inflation fully funds to military.”

I cannot help but think of how much wasteful spending is done by the military.

The Deputy Secretary openly admitted during a recent interview that they have no real idea of what they have and where it is located.

So, maybe they should get these tracking issues fixed before we keep pouring billions into defense.

Graham continued, “Our military is weakening by the day.

“This budget that we’re about to pass makes every problem worse.

“I want to end the war in Ukraine by defeating Putin. If you don’t, he keeps going.

“And we’re going to have a conflict between NATO and Russia, and our troops will be involved if you don’t send a clear signal now.

“China will see this as an opportunity to leap into Taiwan.

“So to the members of this body, we’re staying here as long as it takes to get some commitment that we’re gonna reverse this debacle sooner rather than later.”

Several other Republicans echoed those sentiments, including Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR).

Again, I am all for funding our military, but I am also for accountability, and our defense department has not had that in decades.
