A supposedly “massive” scandal over at Fox News has been exposed which claims that the conservative leaning network paid off an employee who leveled sex abuse charges, in order to cover up the misdeeds of Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle. Like most of the things in the network media headlines, it’s probably not as big a deal as it seems.
Is it really a massive scandal?
Democrats are desperate to distract attention away from the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris plan to pack the supreme court with a bunch of left-leaning justices, should they manage to seize power. Conveniently, The New Yorker learned that Fox paid a cool $4 million to settle the claim of a disgruntled ex-employee. Suddenly, it’s a major scandal. Kimberly Guilfoyle happens to be currently dating Donald Trump Jr. and also serves as President Trump’s campaign finance chair. According to the New Yorker, she’s also been accused of sexual harassment.
One of Guilfoyle’s “female assistants at Fox News sent a 42 page confidential draft complaint to company executives in 2018, which accused Guilfoyle of repeated sexual harassment.” The scandal comes in, as the article emphasizes, when “Fox News paid an undisclosed sum to the woman, who no longer works for the news channel.” The out of court settlement was around $4 million.
The documents are totally sealed from the public but “six anonymous sources have come forward alleging that Guilfoyle would show personal lewd pictures of men, with whom she had sexual relations, to colleagues.” That right there was enough for network execs to fire Guilfoyle. It was obviously horrible judgment and did in fact lead to a scandal. Their lawyers advised that was enough to put them on the liability hook to the employee. Whether anything else that the woman claimed was true or not, they decided to pay her for what they couldn’t dispute.
The rest is liberal fantasy
The really juicy parts of the scandal are unfounded accusations that “the assistant was required to work at Guilfoyle’s New York apartment while Guilfoyle walked around naked.” Well, it was her apartment. The “victim” was also “forced to listen to her speak about her sex life constantly.” Since that involved Donald Trump Jr., the woman must have been horrified. The most serious charge, or possibly wishful thinking, is that the staffer was “ordered to give the Fox News host thigh massages,” while Guilfoyle was naked.
The scandal deepens as the staffer alleged that Guilfoyle tried to pimp her out, suggesting she “submit” to another “Fox employee’s sexual demands for sexual favors.” The celebrity even allegedly “encouraged her to sleep with wealthy and powerful men, asked her to critique her naked body, demanded that she share a room with her on business trips, required her to sleep over at her apartment, and exposed herself to her, making her feel deeply uncomfortable.”
In response, Ms. Guilfoyle pushed back hard declaring that she has “never engaged in any workplace misconduct of any kind.” Fox News made a decision not to try to fight a losing battle but that doesn’t mean that a single one of the accusations are really true. Still it’s a distracting scandal, just when the dems need it the most.
