After the services for Prince Philip were over last month, the Duke of Sussex was cornered by his brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles to have a little scream-fest over the recently aired Oprah Winfrey interview Harry and Meghan gave. Charles is reportedly “not happy.” That’s diplomat speak for “he was breaking things and screaming.”
Prince Harry in hot water
It took a few weeks for the Sun to find a palace source to leak the juicy details to them about how the “peace talks” went with Prince Harry after Philip’s funeral. The short answer is they didn’t “make any progress.” Charles and William dragged the prodigal prince into a drawing room for some man-to-man discussion, away from the paparazzi.
Charles was furious about the things that came out on the Oprah interview. After the screaming was over, they all realized what is done is done and they’re forced to live with it and move forward but none of them like it.
According to the palace rat, the royals “focused on reaching some form of peace and stability within the family moving forward.” They seemed more interested on how to get black sheep dirty Harry back into the family fold than what was said on TV. The spin doctors can fix all that in a jiffy.
“The conversations were focused less on what has happened and what was said with Oprah and more on how to move forward as a family. And that is not an easy path, it requires time and understanding.” Harry’s mom was Princess Diana and everyone knows that hers was no Cinderella story.
The thing that Charles was bent out of shape about was the way the family’s dirty laundry got spread across the American airwaves. It’s crass and Europeans don’t behave that way, especially not the blue bloods with their exclusive inbreeding.
After all, Chuck kept Camilla quietly stashed in the closet for all those years. He’s finally come to the realization that he should have just married her in the first place and followed his destiny. Some say that he’s really furious with Harry because he’s so much like his mother.
Their truth
According to the informant, “Charles felt aggrieved at how the family’s personal affairs and family dramas were expressed in such an ‘insensitive’ way.” Even so, “Harry stands by his words and stands by his wife regarding the way they chose to express ‘their truth.'” That’s another thing that had Charles wincing.
“Certainly Charles and William will not delve into these matters publicly. There is a feeling that any actions raised by Meghan and Harry’s claims will only ever remain behind palace doors.”
On Oprah, the pair of royal refugees “spoke candidly about their experience.” Especially about all the “ongoing bullying, racism, and a lack of mental health resources.” Meghan was suicidal and couldn’t get help because it was bad publicity, she alleges.
Not only that, everyone in Buckingham Palace kept snickering behind her back and taking bets on how dark her son Archie’s skin would be, since her mom was Black. Harry told his father and brother he wouldn’t put up with that sort of nonsense.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the source lamented. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.”
Behind palace gates, most of the family agrees with the young rebels on that one. “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.” Prince Andrew’s name didn’t come up once. Nobody is allowed to say it.
