It’s well known that you can’t choose who your children marry, but this one is going to hurt him a bit, mainly because you’re supposed to disclose this kind of madness before Senate Confirmation. News has broken from multiple prominent sources that the Biden-Harris regime’s Attorney General Merrick Garland has an incredibly obvious family tie to a radical leftist education company: Panorama Education that among other things: ran workshops for teachers that “encouraged attendees to read an article that equated supporters of former President Donald Trump to the Ku Klux Klan, calling them both “examples of white supremacy.” and “focused on “systemic racism,”. Panorama was founded by Xan Tanner, who is Merrick Garland’s son-in-law. Ouch.
The particular workshop that many are pointing to was headlined, “SEL as Social Justice: Dismantling White Supremacy Within Systems and Self.”’ Many Americans and most Republicans are now asking: how much of this stuff does Garland believe?
According to The Washington Examiner, the workshop includes, “a slide that highlights a 2020 article titled “How White Supremacy Lives in Our Schools.” The article was written by Altagracia Montilla, a self-described “freedom-dreamer, facilitator, and strategist committed to dismantling oppressive systems” who says she helps build “antiracist” work spaces, and the piece trashed supporters of former President Donald Trump.
“The rise in images of overt white supremacy in the media feeds into the confusion about white supremacy,” the article began. “While the Ku Klux Klan and MAGAs at half-empty Trump rallies (not that these are mutually exclusive groups) are in fact examples of white supremacy, they are not the only examples.”
The article goes on to mention “overt white supremacy in practice that continues today” and even “murderous police officers.” and describes other “examples of white supremacy” such as: “perfectionism,” “worship of the written word,” “defensiveness,” and “right to comfort.”
The Daily Wire wrote, “The article insisted that “Most of white supremacy is much more insidious: the school to prison pipeline, redlining, the opportunity gap, and voter suppression.”
Lack Of Disclosure And Conflict Of Interest Between Garland & His Son-In-Law’s Firm
While to many, the familial relationship here may seem minor, there now exist a rather serious series of questions that could have and should have been asked by our elected Senators had this extremely pertinent information been disclosed during the confirmation process as it should have been.
This is shown to be especially true by the AG’s recent intrusion into the politics of American school boards through a memo directed toward parents who are presently protesting the inclusion of the very critical-race-theory adjacent values his son-in-law has built a company advocating for.
Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) have cosigned a letter to the Attorney General expressing their serious concerns over the fairly obvious conflict-of-interest which could apply. Better late, than never, the GOP Senators are asking Garland these questions now. They wrote,
“According to the Department of Justice’s (“DOJ”) Conflict of Interest Policy, “An employee maynot participate, without authorization, in a particular matter having specific parties that couldaffect the financial interests of members of her household.” This policy is to prevent both actualconflicts of interests, as well as the appearance of a conflict of interest. In light of the allegationsthat your son-in-law’s company may benefit directly from your memorandum, we request that yourespond to the following questions no later than October 21, 2021:
• Does your son-in-law, Xan Tanner, currently work for Panorama? If not, when did he
leave Panorama’s employ?
• Has Panorama provided any consulting services to DOJ since January 20, 2021, or is
Panorama under contract to provide any consulting services to DOJ in the future?
• Has Panorama provided consulting services or curriculum to any federal agency?
• Has there been any communication between Panorama and DOJ since January 20, 2021?
• Has any school district, teachers’ union, or other trade organization contacted DOJ
regarding Panorama since January 20, 2021?
• Have any school districts that hold or have held a contract with Panorama contacted DOJregarding Panorama since January 20, 2021?
• Did you seek advice from an ethics official or attorney regarding Panorama before issuing the October 4, 2021 memoranda titled “Partnership Among Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Law Enforcement to Address Threats Against School Administrators, Board Members, Teachers, and Staff”?”
