Republicans Leading in ALL 3 Races [Details]

Republicans Leading in ALL 3 Races

A new statewide poll shows that Republicans are now leading in all three races in a key battleground state currently controlled by Democrats.

With disgraced Virginia Governor Ralph Northam unable to run for reelection due to the state’s term limits, the upcoming gubernatorial race in Virginia is heating up.

For the first time since he was chosen as the GOP nominee for governor of Virginia in June of 2021, Glenn Youngkin is leading in a statewide poll.

Alongside Youngkin, the Republicans nominated for the positions of lieutenant governor and state attorney general are both leading against their Democrat opponents.

A Research America Poll conducted by Mary Washington University shows that first-time candidate Glenn Youngkin is leading his Democrat opponent, former Governor Terry McAuliffe, 48 percent to 43 percent among likely voters.

According to the same poll, former state legislator and current lieutenant governor nominee Winsome Sears is now leading Democrat Hala Ayala 47 percent to 41 percent.

If Sears, who is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Trump-style conservative, were to win her race, she would become the first black female lieutenant governor.

The poll also shows that Republican State Delegate Jason Miyares, who is the son of Cuban refugees, is leading in the state attorney general race against Democrat incumbent Mark Herring 46 percent to 42 percent.

According to reporting from Newsmax, “The poll was conducted after Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, and as the issues of the southern border and higher taxation to pay for the Administration-backed infrastructure measure were getting increased attention.”
