Not only is Vladimir Putin at war with Ukraine, but he is also having some big problems with key allies.
Over the last month, Putin has had some spats with his most important friends.
Among those allies now slapping Russia across the hand are China, North Korea, and Iran.
Knock It Off
This all started in July with China.
The Chinese embassy was livid that several of its citizens were detained at the border, calling it a “brutal and excessive law enforcement by Russia.”
Then Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned the Moscow Ambassador over a statement made that Iran believes threatened the stability in the Middle East.
Finally, North Korean hackers are believed to have attacked a computer network that belonged to a missile developer working for Russia.
The timing of this has been awful for Putin, who just had to put down a planned coup from the Wagner Group.
The biggest concern of all these groups for Russia is the Chinese reaction.
China, while supporting Russia, has tried to give the world the impression it is remaining neutral.
If Putin loses the support of Xi, the repercussions will go much further than the war that Putin started with Ukraine.
