Joe Biden just ticked off his immigration team so bad that two of them quit in disgust. If Joe’s going to implement Donald Trump’s policies, then they’re out the door. In a total flip, Joe is replacing Title 42 with a pair of Trump era strategies. He woke up and smelled the legal fees from the pending impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas. Republicans have a pretty good chance of convincing the courts that the whole “parole” idea was illegal, too. Suddenly, there are restrictions on asylum.
Biden flips on asylum
Politico is so freaked out by what Joe Biden just did that they keep using the same phrase over and over again in their story. “Staff departures are common after midterms,” they continue to insist. Then they go on to say that midterms don’t have anything to do with the current shakeup. That, they blame squarely on Joe. “But,” they quickly add, Joe’s “immigration team has struggled with turnover.”
In reality, the “team” is in total meltdown mode as two “officials involved in crafting immigration policy are preparing to depart.” The entire reason they’re quitting is “new asylum restrictions that critics say mirror those from the Trump era.”
They don’t “mirror” Trump’s policies, they’re exact copies. Lise Clavel, deputy assistant to His Wisdom and his senior adviser for migration led the exodus, followed by Leidy Perez-Davis, special assistant to Joe Biden for immigration. They’re not sticking around long.
President Biden proposed banning people from asylum if they cross another country first — similar to Trump policies he claimed to oppose.

“Clavel’s last day will be March 1, but Perez-Davis was asked by the White House to delay her departure and will leave in a couple months.” The big day on everyone’s calendar is May 11. That’s when Title-42 fades into the sunset.
Instead of the wide open gates and mass herds of immigrants pouring across our southern border, officials were shocked to learn that clocks are being rolled back to Donald Trump time that day.
“The proposal — which immigrant advocates refer to as the ‘transit ban‘ or the ‘asylum ban‘ will take effect” the same day. It declares that anyone who jumps the border voids their asylum claim. It also goes away if migrants “fail to first apply for safe harbor in another country.” That applies to most of those lined up in Mexico right now. They aren’t going to be real happy about being told by Joe Biden to turn around and walk back home.
Immediate backlash
Despite the fact that midterm movements are frequent, Politico reports that this 180 degree shift in Biden policy “prompted immediate backlash from immigrant advocates and Democrats” who instantly accused the Imperial Leader of “perpetuating a Donald Trump-like approach to border politics.”
They reminded Joe he promised not to do that. Advocacy groups are already working on the lawsuits.
With progressives freaking out all over Washington, the propaganda teams and spin doctors have been working overtime to shift the blame from Biden to Congress. The palace insists they had to use old Trump policies because Congress left a big hole by not granting amnesty for all and eliminating immigration restrictions.

“To be clear, this was not our first preference or even our second. From day one, Biden has urged Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform and border security measures to ensure orderly, safe and humane processing of migrants at our border.”
Joe Biden would love to simply herd them in like cattle but unfortunately there’s this thing called “immigration law” which gets in his way. He tried to bypass that by stretching a loophole way out of shape.
“Parole” snapped back closed around the neck of Joe Biden like a noose. While there is an allowance for “case-by-case” easing of the regulations, to be used on cases which don’t fit the norm, Alejandro Mayorkas exceeded his authority and applied it to a historic 160,000 migrants a month. That’s why he’s being impeached and everyone is getting sued.
