There is a little something brewing in Georgia ahead of the 2024 election.
A key member of the Democrat caucus has decided that she has had enough.
State Rep. Mesha Mainor announced that she is leaving the party and will remain serving in the state House as a Republican.
Time to Leave
Mainor will surely be facing a stiff challenge to maintain her seat in her next election campaign, if she decides to run again.
She is flipping parties while representing one of the heaviest Democrat-populated districts in the state of Georgia.
Regardless, she stated, “I made the decision to leave the Democrat Party.
She added that it “wasn’t a political decision,” but “a MORAL one,” continuing, “I will NEVER apologize for being a black woman with a mind of my own.”
Georgia Republican Party Chairman Josh McKoon was very happy about the party switch.
He stated, “This is a historic day for Georgia Republicans.
“We are delighted to welcome Rep. Mainor to the Georgia Republican Party and look forward to collaborating with her to advocate on behalf of hard-working Georgians.”
Georgia, after years of being a red-state stronghold has suddenly emerged as one of the top battleground states in the country.
The fact we have two Democrat senators from that state is astonishing to me, showing a major shift in power.
The GOP has to figure out how to get grip in Georgia again, as we simply cannot afford to lose states to Democrats if we are going to protect our Constitution and life as our Founders envisioned this country.
