The media is growing tired of Joe Biden’s games.
This week, the New York Post requested a press pass for its beat writer at the White House.
That pass was denied, but that is far from the most interesting part of this story.
No Entry
The New York Post’s White House correspondent Steven Nelson submitted his name for press credentials for the “Investing in Airline Accountability” event.
The White House responded, “We are unable to accommodate your credential request to attend the Investing in Airline Accountability Remarks on 5/8. The remarks will be live-streamed and can be viewed at WH.gov.
“Thank you for understanding. We will let you know if a credential becomes available.”
You would think the room would have been packed for the event, but there more than a dozen empty seats.
That does not exactly mesh with the White House turning down Nelson for a pass.
Nelson stated that RSVPs were sparse because Biden is not taking a lot of questions at these events, so it really serves to purpose to show up unless you just want a picture.
The White House offered up the excuse that media members just did not show up for the event that had accepted an invite, which is why Nelson was turned down.
Or, maybe, just maybe, it was because the New York Post is one of two outlets that actually asks hard questions.
Perhaps it was the fact the Post is the outlet that broke the laptop story that is now creating some significant problems for Biden.
Regardless, this is a major outlet that should be part of every press conference, and the White House knows this.
This is how they operate, as became very apparent when the White House rolled out its new briefing room requirements this week.
