Joy Reid, in a positively shocking episode of cognitive dissonance bordering on delusion, claimed that the Republican party is “dangerous” for stoking “white nationalism.” following the election of Winsome Sears as Virginia‘s Lieutenant-Governor alongside Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin, and Attorney General-elect Jason Miyares. Reid’s statement is made all the more baffling when you consider that 2/3 of the most powerful offices in Virginia will not be held by a white person… which if one’s goal was “White Nationalism” would be something of a step in the wrong direction. Never-minding the obvious disconnect between rhetoric and reality here, Sears, a retired Marine and the first-ever woman of color elected to a Virginia Statewide office took some serious issue with Reid after being shown her remarks on Fox News Nov. 3rd.
Reid claimed that Republicans are “dangerous to our national security” for “stoking that kind of soft white nationalism [that] eventually leads to the hardcore stuff.” to which the Lt. Governor-elect responded,
“I wish Joy Reid would invite me on her show. Let’s see if she’s woman enough to do that. I’d go in a heartbeat and we’d have a real discussion without Joy speaking about me behind my back, if you will, she talks about White Supremacy. Does she know I ran against a white supremacist?” Sears responded. “I mean, Joy, come on. Get your facts straight and then come talk to me.”
Sears also extended her challenge to ESPN’s Jemele Hill after she tweeted “It’s not the messaging, folks. This country simply loves white supremacy,”

It would appear that accusing a United States Marine of being a threat to national security strikes a bit of a nerve as one would expect from a person who dedicated their life and sacred honor to defending our nation.
“When I joined the Marine Corps, I was still a Jamaican. But this country had done so much for me, I was willing, willing, to die for this country,” Sears, a Marine veteran, told a boisterous crowd in Chantilly, Va., before leading them in a chant of “USA.”
It would serve Reid and Hill well to remember, they’re talking about a United States Marine.
Sears Answers Constant Challenges About Race It Seems
It seems that the Democrats are bound and determined to make absolutely everything about race, and Sears has experienced this first hand, having spoken to it multiple times on the campaign trail.
Sears noted her history-making achievement to make a plea for racial unity.
“There are some who want to divide, but we must not let that happen,” she said. “We have had a black president elected not once but twice and here I am, living proof.”
Much to the consternation of her detractors, with a very adroit and historically accurate account of Harriet Tubman Sears, expertly turned the media’s obsession over the color of her skin back on them in ardent defense of the Second Amendment.
“Here’s the thing. Harriet Tubman carried a gun and if it was good enough for her, then it’s good enough for me. But here’s the other thing that most people don’t know, the gun confiscation laws were first against black people, you see, and so, we are entitled to have guns. It’s our Second Amendment right and we’re not giving them up,” she told 7 News ABC in Washington, DC. Semper Fi ma’am.
