ICYMI – In an ideal world, judges in this country would be completely removed from politics.
They should not be able to appear with politicians and they surely should not be donating to political causes.
Well, the judge presiding over the Trump case, Juan Merchan, has made several donations that benefited Democrats.
Not a Good Idea
These donations were not large amounts, but that is irrelevant for our purposes.
The fact he is even donating is a problem because it shows bias.
According to FEC data, Merchan has made three small donations to ActBlue that were earmarked for “Biden for President,” “Stop Republicans,” and “Progressive Turnout Project.”
The donation that bothers me the most is the “Stop Republicans” donation, as he clearly has an agenda.
Now, Merchan will be presiding over the case of the current favorite to win the GOP nomination.
Bragg literally broke this case out on a line-by-line basis to generate 34 counts rather than two counts of fraud against Trump.
It is overkill and it is also a case that would normally be nothing more than a fine, penalty, back taxes, and slap on the wrist.
Instead of calling Bragg out for the abuse of power, he is likely to entertain it and make Trump’s life miserable in court.
