Some celebrities simply cannot help themselves from getting attention.
Miley Cyrus is one such person, recently going on social media to tell everyone how she had a massive “panic attack” over the coronavirus.
Suffering for Others
Cyrus is lucky enough to have a mansion and more than enough ground where she can walk or exercise without the threat of being arrested or fined.
As this pandemic is playing out, we are seeing more and more cities invoke restrictions bordering on martial law.
It was that thought that seemed to trigger Cyrus’ panic attack.
She stated, “Well, I was sitting one night outside and I was looking up at the stars, and it was the one place where I was able to be outside of my house and be able to feel really safe.
“So I was laying out in the grass and I was just looking up at the stars, and thinking about how fortunate and lucky I am that I live in a space where I can still go out and I can take a walk.
“And the weather has been a little rainy, but it’s been nice to cuddle up with my dog on the couch on the days that it felt good and I have enough space where I can go outside and just enjoy nature and feel a little less c**p.
“But I was thinking about how everyone doesn’t have that space. Because just having that change of scenery and being a part of something so beautiful, like the colors of trees or the night sky, was just so inspiring to me to create that inside for the days where I actually got stuck inside my house like everybody else.
“And so I started having this fear and anxiety and panic, and I actually started giving myself really cold feet. My feet started going really cold, my hands going really cold, and I realized I was actually having a full-on anxiety attack.”
Cyrus would go on to say that she is now inviting other celebrities on her show to share different exercises as a way to help her fans occupy their minds to avoid allowing panic to set in.
While we can applaud her efforts to help entertain people and provide brief relief from the reality we are all facing, she could dial down the drama regarding a panic attack.
It is as though she is trying to make herself out to be some type of martyr, pulling attention to herself when the reality of the situation is that she, and most like her, are barely impacted by the inconveniences and restrictions the rest of us are facing.
