Governor Ron DeSantis is having some challenges as of late in Florida.

While DeSantis was off on his book tour, there was massive flooding in Ft. Lauderdale.

Now we find out there was a mistake with the emergency broadcasting system, waking up Floridians before 5 a.m. in the morning.

Oops

These are all little things that start to add up rather quickly.

Ft. Lauderdale is a pretty big deal because it just goes to show why Florida does not permit someone to announce running for a second office and remain in the office they currently hold.

You cannot run a state if you are on a book tour and essentially running a presidential campaign.

I like DeSantis, but this is something that I have always ranted against in politics.

When the Emergency Alert System went off during the early morning hours, it just gave DeSantis critics more ammo to use against him.

DeSantis’ office was furious with the contractor that manages the system.

The company, Everbridge, mistakenly scheduled the alert that was supposed to go out on TV to phones.

DeSantis’ office wasted little time, stating, “This morning’s 4:45 a.m. SERT test alert was not appropriate and not done at our direction.

“The party responsible will be held accountable and appropriately discharged.”

Not long after that announcement, Florida broke its contract with Everbridge.
