The governor of California is waiting in the wings for Joe to step down so he can be the anointed one.
Well, his office just announced a bit of a problem with the budget that could prevent that from happening.
Gavin Newsom not only missed the budget numbers, he was wrong by about $7 billion in the wrong direction.
Oops
If you cannot balance the budget of a state, how can you be expected to balance the budget of the entire federal government?
Not only that, but Newsom screwed the pooch acter having a massive surplus last year.
Instead of holding that money for a rainy day, he was like a 5-year-old on allowance day.
Gabe Patek, the legislature’s budget analyst, stated, “In particular, using recent revenue collections and economic data, we estimate there is a two‑in‑three chance that state revenues will be lower than the governor’s budget estimates for 2022‑23 and 2023‑24.
“Our best estimate is that revenues for these two years will be roughly $10 billion lower — implying a larger budget problem by about $7 billion.”
I mean, it was only a $7 billion mistake… that’s not bad, is it?:
