Craig Robinson and his wife Kelly sued their children’s private school, allegedly because “administrators expelled their two sons after they complained of racist bias during virtual lessons.” When you’re Mike Obama’s brother you can get away with throwing public temper tantrums. The kids were only complaining because their parents put them up to it.
School used naughty word
Apparently, progressives are totally offended by the word “plantation” these days. Just because the sprawling southern farms exploited slave labor doesn’t mean that they should be erased from the school books.
Openly discussing such distasteful but valid parts of American history are the way to prevent atrocities from happening again. There is no valid reason, on the other hand, to torture poor students of color by hiding the truth from them.
Barack Obama’s Brother-in-Law shells out $24,000-a-year for each of their two offspring to attend the exclusive University School of Milwaukee.
Craig and Kelly Robinson think that lets them choose and approve the curriculum taught in the pricey Pre-K-12 academy. Their lawyers filed paperwork in court alleging “the private institution used words like ‘plantation‘ inappropriately during lessons.”
Teachers that the Robinsons are paying good money for “were inconsiderate to a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds.”
According to the complaint, Daily Mail reports, “the school retaliated against their family – whose kids are aged nine and 11 – after they submitted reports in January and March 2021 about concerns they had over racial and socio-economic bias they reportedly overheard during virtual learning last year.”
A termination letter
The faculty had sent them a letter outlining all the reasons for “kicking their sons out after they alleged racist bias.” The way the administrators see it, the Robinsons had “not fulfilled” their agreed on “commitments as a partner to USM and its Middle School teachers and administrators.”
Craig couldn’t wait to get in front of a TV camera on Good Morning America. ABC had them come over on Tuesday, April 19 to tell their tale of woe.
“We heard what was going on in the classroom because of COVID” Craig relates to the audience. “There were repeated use of racial and ethnic stereotypes that were in actual assignments.”
For instance, the school teacher actually dared to use the word “plantation.” Can you believe that? “The use of the word plantation, and things of that nature.”
Actually telling young impressionable students the truth in school about bad things that happened in America long ago which need to be prevented moving forward is unthinkable to progressives. They would rather censor it all into oblivion to make it go away.
“In addition,” Robinson rants, “there was an insensitivity to socio-economic status as well as a disregard for the children who weren’t physically in the classroom.” He doesn’t have a single specific example but boy, is he steamed.
