Hunter Biden’s legal team has been making moves to try to get out of his tax evasion trial, but nothing is working.
This week, Hunter had a procedural hearing to hear motions, and it did not go too well for Hunter.
Virtually every motion his attorneys made was denied, and the judge made it clear that Hunter’s addiction is not going to get him out of this one.
But I Was High
Hunter had tried to play the victim, using his addiction issues as the reason for all his legal problems.
Judge Mark Scarsi, a Trump appointee, was having none of it, disallowing an expert witness to testify on Hunter’s behalf about the issues with his addiction.
His motion to introduce the evidence that he eventually paid his back taxes was also denied.
Prosecuting attorney Leo Wise argued, “No matter how many drugs you can take, you don’t suddenly forget that when you make $11 million, you have to pay taxes.”
If Hunter loses this case, he could stand to do some serious time, but I doubt that will be the case.
Something tells me a plea deal will be worked out here before they ever get to trial to avoid jail time.
If not, Hunter better hope that Kamala wins the race so she can pardon him, otherwise, he could find himself getting fitted for an orange jumpsuit for a short stay in Club Fed.
Keep in mind, Hunter also has his sentencing hearing coming up soon for the gun charges case.
Hunter wound up being found guilty on all charges in that case, but again, it is unlikely he will do any time.
My guess is that as a first-time offender, the judge will order a fine, possibly house arrest, but more than likely a supervised release.
Remember, Joe Biden is still in office, so I don’t see any prosecutor out for blood against Hunter Biden right now.
