Its Time to Fact Check Jim Acosta Since He Wants to Continue to Spread LIES

Acosta

Despite being one of the most notorious peddlers of fake news in the country,  CNN’s Jim Acosta has been unable to translate that notoriety into interest from prospective viewers for his turn as a replacement for the disgraced Chris Cuomo. Resorting to making outlandish claims to grab attention, Acosta has chosen to describe Glenn Youngkin’s Virginia as a “Soviet-style police state” in a clumsy attempt to bait liberals into rallying around his performance.

Acosta struggles to gain viewers

Jim Acosta has lost his primary mission in life with the end of the Trump presidency but CNN isn’t entirely ready to give up on him yet.

With the departure of Chris Cuomo , CNN is testing out a series of new primetime hosts. Acosta was the latest candidate, but even CNN might now be realizing he was a mistake.

The network is suffering from declining ratings and a poor reputation as a generally sanctimonious and intensely biased source of news. Even liberals aren’t too interested at this point.

Presumably told to throw out some red meat to draw mainstream Democrats back, Acosta chose new Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin as his chief target.

Youngkin earned the Soviet police state comment by banning critical race theory in public schools and setting up an infrastructure to enforce that ban.

Critical race theory refers to a broad set of anti-white teachings which Youngkin vowed to keep out of schools after parents across the state protested against it.

Youngkin a Soviet?

The governor set up a tip line so that parents and students who were uncomfortable with teachers continuing to use this extremist doctrine in classes could report their concerns to the state.

This is what Acosta compared to the Soviet Union. The police state description is ironic, given that the other side of the issue features an infinitely better example.

The federal government has threatened to use the FBI against parents who protest against critical race theory and other controversial inclusions in public schools.

Using the absurdly broad justification of “intimidation” directed at school boards, the Department of Justice has told parents that they may be arrested by federal agents for  complaining about the propaganda being taught to their children.

The police state here is the federal government, which encourages people to expose friends and relatives who have the wrong beliefs.

Jim Acosta and CNN provide a helping hand to that police state by deflecting negative attention back onto anyone who appropriately uses the legal process to challenge it.
