Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is determined to show the people of this country what is happening at the border.
So, he had the absolutely brilliant idea of holding House Judiciary Committee hearings at the border itself.
This is not sitting well with Democrats, who are now boycotting the hearings.
No Thanks
Both Jim Jordan and Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) have been forecasting this move for weeks.
Yet, the Democrats are trying to say they never knew anything about it.
The premise behind holding the meetings there was to give everyone a firsthand view of the issues.
It is actually a border trip that is more than a photo op.
Jordan, in announcing the on-site hearings, stated, “Before we adjourn, we want to inform all members about a [congressional delegation trip] our committee will be taking to the border on Feb. 22, 23, 24 — make the minority aware of that.
“This hearing has made clear the problems that we — the real problems we see at our border and across our country, so we want to make sure that we get down to visit that area here later this month.”
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) responded, “Democrats, who have been to the border regularly the last few years, will not attend next week’s performative hearing.”
Democrats are also trying to say they did not get enough notice, which is complete and utter nonsense…

The last thing Democrats want is for mainstream media cameras to see what is actually going on down there, and their presence would all but ensure those images start to get broadcast.
With only Republicans attending, the chances of anyone but Fox News showing up are slim and none.
