Rhode Island city councilman Matthew Reilly, a Republican, got himself into a bit of a pickle.
He decided to grab some rock and take a nice relaxing nap in a parking lot.
The problem… someone saw him and called the cops.
Dude!
Officers were flagged down by a woman that was concerned when she saw Reilly asleep in his car.
She told the officers the man appeared to be choking, so they rushed over.
When the officer saw Reilly, he was passed out, crack pipe in hand.
The officer was astonished to learn that Reilly was a city council member, but Reilly was still unaware the officer had noticed the crack pipe.
When the officer said someone saw him choking, he said he just pulled over to take a nap and had sleep apnea, at which point the officer broke the bad news to him…
Reilly has reportedly resigned from his position.
He has a trial date set for June 15.
