Mayorkas May Have a Plan But He Hasn’t Got a Clue

Mayorkas

The big cheese over at the homeland security ministry, Alejandro Mayorkas, was dragged in front of Congress on Wednesday, to explain exactly what his plan is for handling next month’s expected invasion. The answer is that he’s laser focused on processing herds of illegal aliens through the gates like cattle.

Mayorkas has a plan

Oh, I have a plan, Alejandro Mayorkas insisted under oath on Wednesday, April 27, in front of the House Appropriations Committee. Herd them in, take down a name and as much identifying info as they can get, then hand them a cell phone.

After that, they’re free to do as they please, anywhere in America they wish. Once they’re cleared through customs, then it’s no longer his problem. Not that it was his problem in the first place, he dodged. The invasion was really the fault of the CDC.

It’s not like he’s expected to protect the heartland of America from hostile forces or anything, Homeland Security’s current leader told lawmakers.

Mayorkas was grilled like a steak on Capitol Hill over the upcoming but temporarily halted sunset of “Title 42.” A federal judge in Louisiana slammed on the breaks but the deal isn’t final.

Lawmakers didn’t pull any punches. They demanded to know how the plug could be pulled without a plan for where to put all these migrants. Mayorkas was ready. Blame everyone but himself.

Our responsibility in the Department of Homeland Security is to implement the Title 42 authority of the CDC at our border and to implement it effectively and judiciously according to the law.

18,000 a day

Mayorkas is well aware that as soon as the Trump era restriction is lifted, a flood of 18,000 illegals will start to pour across the border, every single day. “We are mindful,” he testily replied, “that there can be an increase in migratory flows encountered at our southern border.

It wasn’t his call. The “CDC has determined” it needs to end May 23. He’ll be ready to hand out Welcome to America starter packs.

Our responsibility therefore, is to prepare and plan for that eventuality.” Even though Judge Summerhays put the invasion on hold, “the administration continues to prepare for the eventual end of Title 42.

Mayorkas himself issued a memo on Tuesday “outlining the objectives DHS plans to carry out,” when the time comes. He has a six-part strategy.

The plan Mayorkas will put in play “involves surging resources to the border including medical supplies and personnel, speeding up case processing at CBP holding centers, working with NGOs to transition migrants from government custody to local communities.

Any of them coming in through Texas are instantly offered a free ride to the Capitol where they can begin a new life somewhere they are welcome.
