Earlier this year, Lisa Marie Presley passed away.
At only 54 years old, her death stunned fans, losing the last link to the King, Elvis Presley.
It turns out, Lisa Marie and her father had more in common than we knew.
Cause of Death Revealed
Only two days before her death, Lisa Marie was seen on the red carpet.
She was there because “Elvis” had been nominated for numerous awards.
During her appearance, quite a few people noted that she did not look well.
As it turns out, she was complaining of extreme abdominal pain, including the day that she passed away in her home.
The pain was caused by an obstruction in her bowel, with “strangulated small bowel” listed on the coroner’s report.
It also happens to be a common side effect of bariatric surgery, which Presley had.
The report stated, “This is a known long-term complication of this type of surgery.”
Presley also had opioids in her system, which were therapeutic levels of Oxycodone, and Buprenorphine, which is used to treat opioid dependence.
Presley had been given opioids due to a recent cosmetic surgical procedure.
Doctors stated that she had a habit of “overmedicating,” as she was forgetful and would often double up on doses because she forgot that she had already taken her meds.
Rest in peace, Lisa, and we hope you are with your father now.
