Twitter had to have an emergency staff meeting because all the liberal snowflakes were having a complete meltdown. Angry employees unloaded on a tired and “annoyed” CEO Parag Agrawal. Elon Musk is promising to lift the lid of censorship but that isn’t what has them alarmed the most.
Staff goes spastic
Twitter employees reportedly “lashed out” over Elon Musk’s $44 billion corporate buy out. They accused the SpaceX mogul of “bigotry” while “fretting over potential job cuts once the deal closes.”
The current CEO was having a hard time keeping his cool as the staff speared him with questions. One outlet described Parag Agrawal as “looking tired and at times annoyed.”
Their new owner, one staff member accused, is “anti-gay and anti-transgender.” Won’t that “hurt efforts to recruit new employees?” Only the gay and transgender ones.
Another query was “what should we tell the LGTBQ community at recruiting conferences we’re lined up to attend when they ask us why they should come work at Twitter when we just sold ourselves to an open homophobe and transphobe?”
Dalana Brand is Twitter’s chief people and diversity officer but won’t be for long. While she is there, she’s trying to keep some control over the staff.
She “diplomatically avoided agreeing with that assessment of Musk, responding: ‘I cannot speak to Elon’s personal feelings on these things.‘” She “can’t speak to what he’s done in his other companies, in terms of people’s experiences.”
Mockery of pronouns
Musk, insiders say, “will not make any decisions about job cuts until he assumes ownership.” Staff members, on the other hand, are weighing their decision to stay or not on things like the new owner’s mocking way of disparaging “pronouns.” He’s on record that he doesn’t care much for the “inclusion of pronouns in Twitter bios.”
Rumors around the water cooler suggest that “the billionaire was prompted to buy Twitter after the service suspended a satirical account that praised a transgender Biden administration official as ‘Man of the Year.’”
All the snowflakes at Twitter were melting down like they were at the gates of Hell, voicing fears of mass layoffs. Company officials had no promising news to offer the staff because whether they like it or not, the reality is that changes are coming. What nobody knows is how drastic they will be.
“Musk has reportedly vowed to slash executive pay after taking over, but one source said he will not make any decisions about job cuts until he assumes ownership.”
One employee, described as “angry and disappointed,” raised the issue with Agrawal when their question was read aloud. “I’m tired of hearing about shareholder value and fiduciary duty. What are your honest thoughts about the very high likelihood that many employees will not have jobs after the deal closes?”
Agrawal suggested it might be a good idea for progressive members of the staff to start tidying their desk so everything will fit in a box they can carry. “Different organizations have different cultures, but they’ve excelled. It will be different here than what it is today.“
