Now a beloved school teacher has been found dead in a shallow grave.
Grim Discovery
Kindergarten teacher from the BelovED Charter School Luz Hernandez never showed up for work on Monday.
Authorities were asked to do a welfare check, and they found blood spattered in her apartment, not a good sign.
After an investigation, her body was discovered in a nearby shallow grave. Jersey City Police Department stated, “On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the Jersey City Police Department conducted a welfare check on Van Home Street regarding a missing person’s report.
“The findings resulted in the Jersey City Police Department contacting the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office for assistance.
“During the course of the investigation, the Homicide Unit located what appeared to be a shallow grave in the area of Central Avenue and Third Street in Kearny.”
BelovED founder Bret Schunder stated, “People loved her. She was a wonderful co-worker.
“She was a beloved member of the BelovED family. People are feeling devastated by this.”
