Occasionally, a rabid Hollywood leftist whilst foaming at the mouth in the throes of a woke tantrum will like a trapped animal bite and wound themselves. Unlike the poor animal in this example, it’s actually quite entertaining to watch. During the Aug. 11 premiere of “Flag Day,” Sean Penn stunned audiences when he said, “I do request people who are not vaccinated, don’t go to the cinemas. Stay home until you are convinced of these very clearly safe vaccines,” There’s shooting yourself in the foot and then there’s blowing your entire leg off and it looks like Penn has done the latter.
Reportedly, Penn, speaking with CNN’s Michael Smerconish said that his film “Flag Day” will make it’s way to streaming at some point and made what’s likely to be a very accurate prediction “that’s a better time for the unvaccinated to see it, though I think I’ll probably offend them out of that choice,”. It’s difficult to imagine very many conservatives will be scrambling to see watch the performance of someone who has so diametrically opposed them on so many fundamental levels, so publicly for so many years.
The Hollywood Distorted Vision of Freedom and Libertarianism
Penn then offered his very warped distorted view of what freedom and a libertarian perspective mean, with the type of collectivist talk you would expect for a student of communism and a supporter of Hugo Chavez.
“There are those that, once the FDA gives full approval, will go forward with it. And there are those who have become entrenched in a kind of radical libertarianism and an identity of politic that has sort of perversely turned this issue into something that forgets that in the United States of America — in our entire history — it’s all based on being independent because we understand interdependency,” Penn said, according to The Blaze and Variety.
From there Penn’s comments are fragmented and baffling, he seems to jump from woke, intersectional talking point to a talking point almost at random grasping at the unfortunate death of George Floyd.
“The entire history of successful things in this country. And if we’re gonna continue with successful things — if we’re gonna take some of the great lessons that have been learned in the last year, some of the extraordinary movements, George Floyd, all of what’s happening societally — if we’re gonna take the good parts of that and move it forward, we’re gonna do it interdependently. And I think vaccination is the beginning of that, given that it’s such a threat now to business, to lifestyle, to life here, and around the world.”
The wildly distorted worldview of Penn and others like him in the far-left media-industrial complex of Hollywood only serves to prove further that a system of parallel institutions is absolutely critical and up and coming conservative film companies like Angel Studios and The Daily Wire can’t possibly come fast enough and must be supported and encouraged by libertarian and conservative audiences.
