If you watched the presidential debate, you saw Donald Trump say that he could end the Russia-Ukraine war as president-elect.
Trump doubled down on this promise while hosting a space on X.
There is one problem, however, and it could wind up being a trap by the Biden administration.
End the War
During his hosted space, Trump stated, “I want to get Russia to settle up with Ukraine and stop this — millions of people being killed, far greater than the number you read about.
“But I want to get that done before I even take office, I want to get that done as president-elect, because it has to be solved — too many people dying, too many cities are just in rubble right now, you look at the cultures just being destroyed.
“We’ve got to get that done, and I’ll get it done.”
In all honesty, I think Putin would probably take the meeting with Trump and listen to him on this.
But the kicker in all of this is that even as president-elect, Donald Trump cannot do anything diplomatic to represent the United States without the approval of the Biden administration.
If you recall, when Trump was president and running against Joe Biden, John Kerry was having discussions with Iran, and there was talk of charging him via the Logan Act.
Republicans being the spineless cowards they are, they never charged him, but they should have.
The Logan Act specifically forbids private citizens acting on behalf of this country in any diplomatic matters.
If Trump discusses the war with Putin from a negotiation stance, it would be a violation of the Logan Act, and you better believe the Dems would go after him for it.
Kerry convinced Iran to hold out and wait until after the election in negotiations that were going on regarding sanctions because he did not want Trump to get the win. How he was never charged for violating the Logan Act is beyond me.
If I were Trump, I would avoid even approaching Russia “officially” until after he takes office.
We know Dems want to “eliminate” Trump at all costs, and if Trump even sniffs around a Logan Act violation, he is going to have more legal problems than he already has.
