Well, this was bound to happen.
After seeing two Trump impeachment hearings, we may get to see a third if he is elected in 2024.
I kid you not, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) is already threatening to impeach Trump.
Run It Again
During the CNN town hall, Trump said plenty that got under the skin of Democrats.
When Trump said he was going to pardon January 6 rioters, well, you just knew that would set people off.
Trump stated, “I am inclined to pardon many of them.
“I can’t say for every single one of them, because a couple of them probably got out of control.
“I will say it will be a large portion of them, and it will be very early on, and they’re living in hell right now.
“They’re policemen, and they’re firemen, and they’re soldiers, and they’re carpenters, and electricians and they’re great people. Many are just great people.”
When Trump was asked if he would also pardon the Proud Boys, he responded, “I don’t know. I’ll have to look at their case, but I will say in Washington, D.C., you cannot get a fair trial, you cannot.”
Blumenthal went ballistic.
He stated, “I think to violate the American trust by pardoning the January 6th insurrectionist would be itself a betrayal of trust, and would warrant an impeachment process.
“I think that the motives and potential influences on him in pardoning January 6th rioters who literally caused deaths of capitol policemen I think would be beyond the pale.”
This is all ad material for Democrats, so it will make the race very interesting once DeSantis gets in there.
I have to say, though, I almost think Democrats want Trump to win so they can go hog wild on him for four more years again.
