This week, Donald Trump and hosts from “Morning Joe” had a meeting that created a major meltdown on the left.
However, “Morning Joe” said they just wanted to clear the air and get off to a fresh start.
That did not last very long, however, after Joe Scarborough gave his “takeaway” on the meeting, and Trump’s people hit back right away.
Fake News
According to Scarborough, Donald Trump expressed concern about his nomination for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.
Scarborough stated, “I will say on background, in our conversation on background, there are a couple of things that surprised us.
“One of them was, when his name came up, there was not a flinch, but a noticeable ‘we got problems here.’”
Scarborough later added, “Those weren’t the words [used]. But I will just tell you that was the takeaway.”
Trump transition communications director Steven Cheung was quick on the trigger, pushing back on the report as soon as the words came out of Scarborough’s mouth.
Cheung responded, “Scarborough is wrong. Pete Hegseth dedicated his entire life as a warrior for the troops and for our country. Pete served our country as an Army Combat Veteran who did tours in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
“For his actions on the battlefield, he was decorated with two Bronze Stars, as well as a Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
“He is an incredibly tough and smart candidate that will fight to put America First.
“With Pete as our Secretary of Defense, America’s enemies are on notice and our military will be great again.”
Trump said he would keep the peace with the media as long as they treated him fairly, so I am going to guess that Scarborough’s report will not be taken as a fair report.
As far as the concerns about Hegseth, even though he paid a settlement to his accuser, he stated that it was just to make the problem go away.
Police did investigate the claim, and found zero evidence that the allegations against him were true.
