During an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle,” Attorney General William Barr made his thoughts known about the infamous Russia investigation into President Trump’s 2016 campaign. He passionately referred to the investigation as “one of the greatest travesties in American history.”
Barr’s Take on the Russia Hoax
“My own view is that the evidence shows that we’re not dealing with just the mistakes or sloppiness,” Barr said to Laura Ingraham. “There was something far more troubling here. We’re going to get to the bottom of it. And if people broke the law and we can establish that with the evidence, they will be prosecuted.”
The president’s supporters were disgusted by the witch hunt, and Barr added that President Trump “has every right to be frustrated” by the far-reaching investigation.
“What happened to him was one of the greatest travesties in American history — without any basis,” Barr said. “They started this investigation of his campaign. And even more concerning, actually, is what happened after the campaign. A whole pattern of events while he was president … to sabotage the presidency … or at least have the effect of sabotaging the presidency.”

John Durham’s Investigation Continues
Bar relayed that he has witnesses disturbing signs relating to U.S. Attorney John Durham’s ongoing probe into the details of the two-year investigation. The Russia probe ended with a conclusion of the president receiving no allegation of wrongdoing.
Durham was selected by Barr to look over the events leading up to the 2016 presidential election. Specifically, Durham was expected to review the origins of the Russia probe.

Barr Discusses FBI and FISA Corruption
While on Ingraham’s show on Thursday, Barr also laid out why he believes there was an abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
“I think it’s very sad, and the people who abused FISA have a lot to answer for because this was an important tool to protect the American people. They abused it. They undercut public confidence in FISA, but also the FBI is an institution, and we have to rebuild that,” Barr said.
Accusations of critical errors by the FBI have continuously been brought forth. Last year, Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz claimed that the FBI made several blunders in front of the FISA Court. The suspicion is that this was done to try and obtain the warrants against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. No shocker, the warrants were found by a court that it “lacked probable cause.”
Barr has been a leading force in calling out false coups by top agencies like the FBI. With the 2020 election on the horizon, fair cooperation with President Trump is not something that is expected to occur. As the political scene keeps heating up, it seems that Barr is not backing down.
