When former Attorney General William Barr heard what Jamie Raskin had to say about the Joe Biden bribery probe, he was quick to fact check the ranking House Oversight Democrat. It wasn’t closed. Not by a long shot. It’s still open under a different investigation. The big question is what’s taking so long to bring some charges.
Biden bribe probe not closed
On Tuesday, former Attorney General William Barr “refuted” the false claim of Maryland Democrat Jamie Raskin that the DOJ pulled the plug on a probe in 2020. Raskin was mislead to believe that the Just Us Department “terminated the investigation.”
There are rumors floating around that Joe Biden was in the middle of a $5 million bribery scheme while acting like vice president. Raskin lied. “It’s not true. It wasn’t closed down. On the contrary, it was sent to Delaware for further investigation.”
As soon as he came out of the show and tell presentation where the FBI finally gave James Comer and his Democrat counterpart a quick peek at the disputed document, Raskin was quick to disagree with what Comer had to say.
William Barr goes on the record to state that Rep. Jamie Raskin lied about him closing down the Biden $5 million bribe investigation.

Comer made a big deal about the probe still being open, while Raskin claimed he missed that. He missed it three times. In his statement, the Democrat claimed he had “not heard that this is part of any ongoing investigation.” He even called the bribe charges “second-hand hearsay.”
Raskin was rattled enough to admit that the bribery story “surfaced after Rudy Giuliani was making particular allegations” about Ukraine and the Biden family in early 2020. Some say Joe was paid off in ice cream.
He thinks that’s a magic wand which will make the entire probe scandal disappear. After Barr came out and called him a liar, “a spokesman for Raskin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”
Wray caved on the file
The FBI has been refusing to admit that the document that Congress had been demanding even existed. A threat of contempt got Christopher Wray to offer Comer and Raskin a private viewing.
That confirmed the existence of both a the document and probe into the allegations it contained. It wasn’t good enough to get Wray out of the contempt charge. The paperwork has been filed as of Wednesday and will be voted on Thursday.
Meanwhile, beyond the absolute last minute, Chris Wray caved in even further and offered to put a copy of the FD-1023 form into the hands of every committee member. Hopefully, by the end of the day. You try real hard, Comer suggested.

If everyone gets their copy of the memo by the time they vote, they’ll let him off the hook. He’s cutting it really close and they don’t trust him, they warn. Not after what John Durham revealed in his final probe report.
Comer is convinced that what’s being described in the contested report is “consistent with what we found and disclosed to you all in Romania. It suggests a pattern of bribery where payments would be made through shell accounts and multiple banks.”
The probe is currently under the control of Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss. there’s a whole bunch of speculation that he’s just working on a way to charge Hunter Biden with the absolute bare minimum he can get away with, thereby shielding Joe Biden, his brother Jim and practically every member of the Biden family except the pets.
