We need to hold them all accountable.

Amid all of the impeachment talk and the beginning of the Democrat primary, a sneaky piece of legislation was passed to restrict Donald Trump called the War Powers Resolution.

This measure was passed overwhelmingly in the House, but it could have been defeated in the Senate were it not for eight Republican Senators.

The Legislation

The piece of legislation came to be over the outrage of the order to kill General Soleimani.

Democrats spewed the narrative that Trump carrying out this strike was all but declaring war on Iran.

Sadly, some of the Republicans in office sided with Democrats on this issue.

In response, the House drew up the War Powers Resolution to specifically limit the actions that President Trump can take against Iran.

After the measure passed in the House, most conservatives thought it would be defeated in the Senate, but there was a mass defection to the Democrat side of the aisle on this, with eight Republicans supporting the measure:

  • Utah Sen. Mike Lee
  • Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul
  • Maine Sen. Susan Collins
  • Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander
  • Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy
  • Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran
  • Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski
  • Indiana Sen. Todd Young

Leading the charge throughout has been Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), who stated, “We should not be at war with Iran unless Congress votes to authorize such a war.

“While the President does and must always have the ability to defend the United States from imminent attack, the executive power to initiate war stops there.

“An offensive war requires a congressional debate and vote.

“This should not be a controversial proposition.”

The ironic thing here is that Trump was nowhere near declaring war against Iran, so the legislation was never needed.

It is also worth noting that Kaine nor any of his other fellow Democrats ever looked to put restrictions on Obama after a missile strike took out a wedding party during his time as president.

That strike occurred on December 12, 2013, in Yemen.

I get the resistance by Senator Paul, as he has always been anti-war and adamant he wants our troops removed from the Middle East.

While I am not happy with his vote, I do understand it. As for the rest of them, write down their names and remember them when it comes time to pull the handle if and when they get primaried by another Republican.

We simply cannot afford to have Republicans in office that buy into these bogus narratives Democrats continue to spin against this administration.

  1. These American traitors, like specially Murkowski (add coward Romney to this gang) can act as the demonrats 5th column in their planning to totally enslave Americans into politically correct Orwellian ism only because THEIR VOTERS ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS, &, THROUGH THEIR VOTING, ALSO – AMERICAN TRAITORS. Why these stupefied ‘voters’ do not listen to Great Patriots like Steve Bannon to discern between gangrene and more and more rare Patriotism and Faithfulness to American Civilization and Freedoms Values?
