Wisconsin Turns into a War Zone, Shots Ring Out…State of Emergency Issued

Wisconsin

Another round of violent riots broke out Sunday night where dozens of armed rioters took over the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Erupts in Violence

Police officers shot an individual when they were responding to a domestic incident on the evening of August 23.

Due to unruly thugs taking to the streets, a state of emergency was declared in Kenosha County that included a curfew that started at 10:15 p.m. and lasted until 7 a.m. Monday, Fox Milwaukee reports.

A Wisconsin man resisting arrest was shot in the back when he tried to enter a car that spurred the riots.

The AP reports:

In the video posted on social media that appeared to show the shooting from across a street, three officers could be seen shouting and pointing their weapons at the man, who appeared to be Black, as he walked around the front of an SUV parked on the street. As the man opened the driver’s side door and leaned inside, one officer grabbed his shirt from behind and then fired into the vehicle. Seven shots could be heard on the video, though it was unclear if more than one officer fired.

Following the shooting, social media posts showed neighbors gathering in the surrounding streets and hurling comments at police. Some could be heard chanting, ‘No justice, no peace.’

Details Still Have Not Been Released

It is still unknown whether or not the man was reaching inside the vehicle to get a weapon and the Kenosha Police Department has not released whether or not a weapon was found.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers released a statement condemning the shooting even though the details of the matter are still unknown.

The statement reads:

“While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country,” Evers said according to the AP. “We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equity, and accountability for Black lives in our country …

“And we stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with Black Wisconsinites. I have said all along that although we must offer our empathy, equally important is our action. In the coming days, we will demand just that of elected officials in our state who have failed to recognize the racism in our state and our country for far too long.”

Police Get Beaten By Mob

Severe destruction and manic has occurred against Wisconsin police officers since the emergency order was declared. In one video, an officer can be seen being beaten in the head with a brick until he is unconscious.

Mobs of thugs have also descended on neighborhoods and shops where they continue to loot and steal throughout the city.

Recent reports tell that the man shot by police was trying to break up a fight and is in serious condition while admitted to the hospital.
