The wall is going up! A federal appeals court approved President Trump’s plan to divert military funding for border wall construction. The move comes after a lower court initially blocked the plan. Another win for President Trump!
Mexico border wall construction
In a 2-1 decision, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals ruled that El Paso County and the nonprofit Border Network for Human Rights did not have the standing to block the Trump administration’s plan to move $3.6 billion from over 100 military construction projects and that the plaintiff was unable to prove they were harmed by the plan.
Apparently Leftie tears is not enough to stop President Trump’s America First agenda.
The court’s decision overturned a 2019 ruling against President Trump by U.S. District Judge David Briones. Judge James Dennis also voted against the decision, saying “the 2019 Consolidated Appropriation Act clearly prohibited the redirection of funds that underpins the border wall.” The Supreme Court has already agreed to review the ruling.
If Joe Biden makes it into the White House in January he plans to end the national emergency that allowed President Trump to divert Pentagon funds to the border wall project.
Lefties all wanted a wall before Trump became President. But once Trump got into office the Democrat game plan was to obstruct and demonize him every step of the way. Total hypocrites! Check out this video below.
The border wall was one of President Trump’s top campaign promises in 2016. He vowed to stop illegal immigration and in 2019, he declared a national emergency to transfer billions in military funds after he failed to reach a funding deal with Congress.
This led to the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. According to the United States Customs and Border Patrol, 415 miles of border wall has been built as of December 2020, with the goal of completing more than 450 miles by the end of the year.
