Top government officials are cooperating with House committees to schedule interviews, even though they aren’t willing to admit it in writing. Watchdogs have been sniffing around how “alleged political interference” prevented five years of investigation of Hunter Biden from producing any criminal charges.
Officials in talks
Senior officials, New York Post reports, “are in talks with House Republicans about sitting down for interviews.”
That would include Attorney General Merrick Garland, IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel and Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. All three “declined to formally answer letters from GOP committee leaders.”
Conservatives on various oversight committees would love to have those three officials and their top lieutenants waterboarded but they aren’t allowed to do that. Instead, they call in professional interrogators for deposition like sessions which are transcribed by a court reporter.
If the IRS whistleblowers are telling the truth, Merrick Garland covered up for Hunter Biden and has protected Joe Biden throughout the whole investigation.

That way, they can charge the witness with perjury for any lies Congress catches later. The negotiations concern “roughly a dozen employees of their respective agencies.” They’re to be grilled about “any cover-ups” they “may have observed in the probe.”
Even though they wouldn’t give Congress any written evidence to use against them later, “representatives for the Judiciary and Oversight committees confirmed to The Post that the officials were cooperating to schedule the interviews.” That makes Jim Jordan, James Comer and Jason Smith really happy campers. You probably recognize Jordan of Ohio as chair of the Judiciary Committee and Comer, representing Kentucky, heading up Oversight.
Missouri lawmaker Jason Smith chairs the Ways and Means Committee. Under federal laws, IRS whistleblowers aren’t allowed to talk to anyone but them, until they get permission to talk to others. The two working with the committees now had to clear it with Ways and Means before they could even tell their lawyers what they had.
Weiss doesn’t need authority
The three committee leaders started asking the officials for the interviews back on June 29. That was right after the high profile IRS insiders alleged under oath that Joe Biden and Merrick Garland “blocked efforts to fully prosecute Hunter Biden.” David Weiss is a U.S. Attorney in Delaware. He’s only allowed to charge crimes in Delaware.
He insists nobody is stopping him from filing charges in other places because he hasn’t asked. He’s working real hard on never having to reveal why he has no desire to. Whatever the reason, the last thing he wants to do is press charges. Having authority doesn’t enter into it. He claims.
On June 20, Weiss, who’s chief assistant Derek Hines was a buddy of the Biden family mole, Louis Freeh, aka “One Eye,” gave Hunter Biden the plea deal of the century. His lawyers signed off on it even before any charges were formally filed.

He’s being sent down the river with probation on a couple minor tax misdemeanors and gets to do drug diversion for “a felony charge of possessing a firearm while addicted to crack cocaine.” DOJ officials don’t have to worry about that deal being jeopardized because that cocaine found in the White House wasn’t his.
On July 26, federal judge Maryellen Noreika is expected to rubber stamp the deal and all the officials involved can breathe a sigh of relief. After that, nobody will be able to charge him for a single thing from bribery and money laundering to child pornography.
Even more important, the bribery and money laundering investigation into Joe Biden gets conveniently shut down at the same time. Nobody cares that Joe is a criminal with dementia. He’s going to be president until further notice because Merrick Garland really runs this country. For now.
